Coin machines in Hamburg
A pressed coin is probably the cheapest souvenir of a day out: insert a coin, turn the crank, done. In Hamburg there are 40 locations for it with 48 known designs. You will mostly find them in these corners: Museum / Ausstellung / Erlebniswelt, Verkehrspunkt / Bahnhof / Hafen, Shopping / Souvenir / Laden. Well-known spots are Express Shop, Hamburg Dom Automat 1, Hamburg Dom Automat 2. Almost everywhere you pay with coins – €1 or €2 per pressing. Of the 40 machines, 1 are currently reported as broken; the remaining 39 were working at the last report.

What to bring along
The machines take coins, usually €1 or €2 per pressing.
Newer machines also accept contactless payment.
You insert the coin into the machine and it gets pressed there.
You won’t need an extra 5-cent coin there.
Payment and blank details aren’t available for every machine yet – additions from the community are welcome.
